The story of GOLFOS LAB — three friends, two simulator bays, and a vision for elevated indoor golf in Key Biscayne.
It began, as the best things often do, with a quiet conversation between friends.
Will Tompkins, Tony Gambirazio, and Felipe Porro had played enough rounds together to know two things — they all loved the game, and they all wanted to get better at it. South Florida summers and the realities of busy professional lives meant that play was less frequent than they would have liked. So in 2024, they began to imagine something else: a private space, on the island, where the game could be enjoyed at any hour.
After visiting an industry showcase to study the latest simulator technology, the three secured a tucked-away space inside L'Esplanade Mall on Crandon Boulevard. By the spring of 2025, GOLFOS LAB opened as Key Biscayne's first upscale, climate-controlled indoor golf studio.
We believe the modern golfer deserves more than a converted warehouse and a borrowed launch monitor. The Lab is built on three convictions: that practice should feel like a privilege, that data should serve craft rather than overwhelm it, and that a small membership is the surest path to a great experience.
At one thousand square feet, GOLFOS LAB is intentionally compact. Two simulator bays — each with a ten-by-thirteen-foot screen — sit at the heart of the studio, anchored by tour-grade Foresight technology. Around them, a thoughtfully appointed members' lounge offers a place to settle in between sessions: refined materials, quiet lighting, considered details.
We chose a smaller footprint deliberately. It allows us to keep things private, keep things refined, and keep our members at the center of every decision.
Will Tompkins brings a builder's eye to the Lab. A general contractor specializing in Key Biscayne new construction and renovation, he met his wife — a longtime island resident — on a golf course in upstate New York and brought his game south.
Tony Gambirazio grew up on Key Biscayne. A seven-handicap with a deep familiarity with the island's golf community, he is one of the principals behind the Lab's day-to-day character.
Felipe Porro, also raised on the Key, took up the game later in life and approaches it with the curiosity that suggests. He oversees much of the technology side of the Lab.
We are not a public range, not a stadium-scale spectacle, and not a place that confuses noise for energy. The Lab is small by design, members-only by intent, and quietly luxurious by every measure.
We are, as one of our members put it, the kind of place you would build in your own home if you could.
The best way to know GOLFOS LAB is to step inside. We welcome prospective members for a private tour, an introductory simulator session, and a chance to see whether the Lab is the right fit for you.
Tours are by appointment. We'll give you the time and quiet to make the right decision.
